CHECKLIST

  1. Delete defaults. Delete Default Post, Page, and Comment from Pages
  2. Set time zone. Settings General
  3. Set user registration. Enable/Disable User Registration – Settings General
  4. Thread comments. Set WordPress Discussion/Comments Settings – Settings Discussion
  5. Populate WordPress ping list. Settings Writing
  6. Set WordPress media settings.  Settings Media (Set all to 0) 
  7. Set up WordPress permalink structure. Settings > Permalink and select “Post name”. Settings > Permalink and select “Post name”. 
  8.  Disable Directory Browsing. For this setting, you will need to edit your WordPress .htaccess file. 

    Add this line of code to your .htaccess file (at the bottom):

    Options All -Indexes
